Position: Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer

Context

• You will be part of the IS Datacenter & Cloud Delivery Team, which is in charge of managing hosting Operations, Projects and Strategy for IT hosting needs on-prem, in central datacenters and in the Cloud.
• You arrive in a context of a highly visible transformation Program requiring strong skills and experiences in traditional Datacenter and in Cloud Operations.

Purpose

• The Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer supports the IS Datacenter & Cloud Delivery Team and their service providers to automate daily operational activities and deployments of new services and components in the Cloud (MS Azure) or on hyperconverged on-prem hosting solutions based on MS Azure Stack HCI through DevOps best practices.
• She / he supports creating and managing the DevOps processes for the IS Datacenter & Cloud Delivery Team with the objective to have all deployments created with “Infrastructure As A Code”.
• She / he supports as L3 Expert in executing the hosting Infrastructure operations and execution of Projects for Nexans worldwide.
• She / he supports the deployment of new hosting solutions on-prem, in central datacenters or in the cloud, their integration into the Nexans IT Infrastructure and their proper documentation.
• She / he contributes to the design, development and implementation of automated deployment and management processes to improve lead-time for delivery and the service availability for the business.

Areas of responsibility

• Operations & Support
  • Build of toolkits for the provisioning of resources on MS Azure or MS Azure Stack HCI using Azure DevOps or Terraform and Jenkins, following the design from Architecture.
  • Works with Cybersecurity Team and Architecture to ensure the Cloud and Hybrid-Cloud resources are secured and following the standards.
  • Make evolutions to all deployment pipelines and proposes improvements.
  • Implement the DevOps principles and “Infrastructure As A Code” practice.
  • Support the creation of DevOps organization processes, documentation and planning.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Contribute to the design global Standards (Windows Server Technology, Backups, DRP Solutions, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, MS Azure IaaS and PaaS,…) and ensure they are deployed.
  • Support and manage the deployment and integration of new services or new Business Applications on-prem, in datacenters or in the cloud by coordinating activities between the Business, the Application Teams and the Teams in charge or the RUN operations for the design, the ordering and implementation.
  • Provide 3rd level support for Incident- and Change Management for the hosting infrastructure on-prem, in the datacenters and in the Cloud.
  • Contribute to Major Incident resolution process, coordinating all stakeholders, ensuring processes are correctly followed and adequate communication with stakeholders and management is well performed, with the support of the area Incident Manager.
  • Implement, operate and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies (Disaster Recovery Plans)
  • Monitor and test Application Performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions.
  • Proactively ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Define, maintain and communicate procedures, norms and standards for his field of expertise
  • Provide problem solving leadership.

  • Contributes to return of experience analyses with the aim to improve the delivery.
  • Ensure that the documentation in his field is coherent, available, maintained, distributed and applied.
  • Ensure the recurrent review and update of the knowledge database in his field.
  
  

• Security
  • Guarantee the respect of the cyber security principles defined and reports any abnormalities.
  • Supports security by design principles and enhancements.
  • Contribute to return on experience analysis with the aim of improve the hardening.
  
  

Expected results

• Successful automation of deployments (IAAC)
• Support of the RUN Team with the delivery of solutions for automated operational processes for the complete asset lifecycle.
• Modernization of the IT Hosting Infrastructure by replacing Legacy Systems and Solutions
• Successful implementation of processes for MS Azure and on-prem Industrial Hosting Infrastructure Operations
• Processes for the CMDB Management are in place and the CMDB is up-to-date

Required skills and qualifications

• Mandantory
  • Solid experience in hosting infrastructure operations
  • Solid Cloud operations experience. Especially in MS Azure
  • Solid experience with MS Azure DevOps or Terraform and Jenkins
  • Solid experience in automating the delivery and the run operations in Hybrid Cloud environments
  • Proven experience in MS Azure Administration: RBAC and resources
  • Excellent skills in PowerShell scripting
  • Experience in Move to Cloud Projects
  • Solid experience in Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, MS Azure Stack HCI)
  • Technical Skills in Network, Windows & Linux OS, Database technologies (Oracle, MS SQL), Veeam, Hosting Hardware
  • Language skills: Fluent English required, French
  
  

• Preferred:
  • MS Azure DevOps certification: AZ-400 + AZ-104
  • ITIL certification
  
  

• Education:
  • Master’s degree preferred, below acceptable depending on experience and competencies.
